U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE MEMORANDUM OF
CONVERSATION: BAKER & AZIZ
This exhibit is a complete transcript of Secretary Baker's meeting
with Iraq's Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz on January 9, 1991, in Geneva,
Switzerland. The original document is at the Department of State in
Washington, D.C. It has been declassified so it can be exhibited here.
This meeting which lasted almost eight hours, was suggested by
President George H.W. Bush before going to war to eject Iraq from
Kuwait as authorized by UN Secretary Council Resolutions. President
Saddam Hussein agreed that Aziz should attend.
