As the current presidential term in Mexico approaches its end in 2024, key questions about the country’s future arise. Mexico’s democracy and politics are an important concern, particularly in these times of often extreme polarization, along with questions about the strength or weakness of the rule of law in the country.
At this event, we were honored to host a conversation with Alfredo Gutiérrez Ortiz Mena, Mexico Supreme Court Justice, on the role of the Supreme Court of Justice in Mexico’s democracy.
This was the sixth event in the Mexico 2025 and Beyond Initiative which seeks to envision the post-Lopez Obrador era.
