From regional conflicts to great power competition, the U.S. faces a number of foreign policy challenges with serious implications for global security. At this event, former CIA director and retired Army Gen. David Petraeus will explore these challenges and the ever-evolving global political landscape with the Honorable David M. Satterfield, director of the Baker Institute.

Drawing from his extensive experience, Petraeus will provide analysis of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, focusing on the war’s historical context, global implications, and potential outcomes. As commanding general of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan under President Barack Obama, he will also share his perspectives on the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, its impact on regional stability, and U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.
