A Joseph J. Sisco Memorial Forum Discussion Co-presented by Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and the American Academy of Diplomacy
The Russia-Ukraine war could end in a number of radically different ways. It could result in a strengthened Atlantic alliance, at odds with a cornered and unstable nuclear-armed Russia. Other scenarios could entail a frozen conflict, a divided Ukraine or West, or even a Russian victory. Each outcome would carry different consequences for the domestic politics and foreign policy of the United States.
On May 8 at Baker Hall, the Honorable Kay Bailey Hutchison joined the Honorable Ronald E. Neumann, president of the American Academy of Diplomacy, to reflect on the European geopolitical landscape and the NATO alliance. Afterward, a panel of experts examined the Russia-Ukraine war’s many facets, including the NATO response and the impacts on global markets.
