Biography

Binlei Gong, Ph.D., is a nonresident scholar at the Baker Institute for Public Policy and an associate professor in the School of Public Affairs at Zhejiang University. He is also the deputy director of the Environmental and Energy Policy Center at Zhejiang University.

Gong’s research interests include productivity and economic growth, development economics, agricultural economics, energy economics, applied econometrics and empirical IO. His papers have been published in many academic journals, including the Journal of Development Economics, the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Energy Journal, Energy Economics and Energy Policy.

Gong received a Ph.D. in economics, an M.A. in economics and a M.A. in statistics from Rice University, an M.S. in agricultural, food and resource Economics from Michigan State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Zhejiang University.
