Biography
Francisco Reyes-Vázquez is a nonresident scholar at the Center for the U.S. and Mexico and a Ph.D. candidate in Population Studies at El Colegio de México. He currently serves as the Director of Human Mobility Policies and Data Analysis at Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His work focuses on fostering strategic partnerships and conducting data analysis to influence public policy regarding human mobility.
Reyes-Vázquez holds a master's degree in Population Studies from El Colegio de la Frontera Norte and a bachelor's degree in Sociology from the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez. His research addresses critical social issues, including the impacts of drug trafficking-related violence, indigenous communities, poverty, quality of life, and both internal and international migration.
In addition to his research, Reyes-Vázquez has organized academic seminars for scientific dissemination and has gained valuable experience as a public servant in the municipal administrations of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, and Mexico City. His current work emphasizes database management and the application of descriptive, inferential, and spatial statistics in social science research.
