Biography
Lisa Winfrey serves as the grant specialist at the Baker Institute. She coordinates the pre-award grant process for the institute, working closely with its research centers and programs to identify relevant funding opportunities and to ensure timely, competitive, and compliant proposal submissions. Winfrey also serves as the institute liaison with the university’s Office of Sponsored Projects and Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations. In addition, she assists the institute’s director of finance with the post-award grant process, including grant reporting.
Prior to joining the institute in 2016, she worked for higher education and nonprofit organizations. Her experience includes editorial positions for medical and scientific journals at Rice University and the Texas Medical Center, as well as grant writing and research for fundraising.
Winfrey graduated magna cum laude with a dual bachelor’s degree in English and French from Houston Baptist University.
